For shopping, there are a lot of shopping areas.

To shop for trendy budget street wears:

1). Bugis street. (Bugis MRT)
Many little street wear shops all over Bugis village. You can get trendy teenage street wear, jeans, bags, mobile phone accessories and local souvenirs.

2). Far East Plaza. (Orchard MRT)
Around 5 levels of shops selling teenage and young adult wears. You can get, streetwear, jeans, shoes, tailor made suits and etc.

3). Heeren. (Somerset MRT)
You can find some shops selling trendy clothes here too. But they are slightly up market. You can get, Adidas, bags, shoes, clothes, swimwear and CDs.

4). Queensway Shopping Centre.
For sports shoes and sports products. You can get big brands like Nike, Adidas, etc for a bargin.

5). Sim Lim Square. (Bugis MRT)
Electronic and computer parts heaven. You can get the cheapest computer parts here. You can even check the pricelist from before going down. Electronics items may or may not be the cheapest as there are some shops that mark up prices when you are a foreigner.

6). Haji Lane. (Bugis MRT)
This small alley is starting to bust out with cafes and small boutiques. Do check it out if you have time.

7). City Plaza. (Paya Lebar MRT)
This 5 storey shopping mall is a wholesale centre. If you get enough quantity, the shop may sell you clothes or shoes at wholesale price! Minimum quantity for example, 12 pieces for T-shirts, 5-6 pieces for bags, and etc. You can get ladies fashion, leather shoes, bags, luggages, jeans, t-shirts, matunity wear.

Prices are relatively transparent in shopping area all over Singapore. Except for some notorious areas like Sim Lim Square, Boat Quay and Chinatown.
