The “Singapore Girl” marketing strategy has worked well for the Singapore Airlines for the past years. The “Singapore Girl” is an image that represents high quality service. It’s not only a picture but a walking advertisement. It’s still helping them, but with the moving market and the change in communication as the world develops, they may have to improve on their way of branding. Would changing their image help? Is there a bigger and better image? Changing their image would not only affect their business but the whole of the Nation as well. What will be the possible outcomes of them changing their icon? Is it a wise choice for Singapore Airlines to change their icon? This “sexist” icon has not been brought down yet by Singapore, is it because they dress appropriately and gives an impression of “Hospitality” instead of “Seductive”?
